How do you withdraw money from Zerodha? Log in to Zerodha Console or the Kite app, go to Funds, select Withdraw, enter the amount, and confirm. The money is sent to your linked bank account, usually within 24 hours on working days. Withdrawals are free, and funds can only go to your linked bank account, not via UPI. This guide covers the steps, timings, limits, and common issues.

Steps to withdraw money from Zerodha Console

  1. Log in to your Zerodha Console account.
  2. Click Funds from the main menu.
  3. Select Withdrawal.
  4. Enter the amount you want to withdraw.
  5. Click Continue, then confirm your request.

Once confirmed, Zerodha processes the withdrawal as per the payout schedule and credits the amount directly to your linked bank account.

Withdrawing to your bank account

You can withdraw through Console, Kite web, or the Kite app:

  1. Log in to Console, Kite web, or the Kite app.
  2. Go to the Funds section.
  3. Click or tap Withdraw.
  4. Enter the amount.
  5. Click Continue and confirm.

The money reaches your linked bank account, usually within 24 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.

Can I withdraw without Console access? Yes. You can use Kite web or the Kite app.

Can I use UPI to withdraw? No. Zerodha does not allow UPI withdrawals. Funds are sent to your linked bank account via NEFT or IMPS. UPI is only for adding funds.

Withdrawal timings and settlement

Zerodha processes withdrawals based on cut-off times and settlement days:

Withdrawal dayCut-off (Equity, F&O, Currency)Cut-off (single ledger enabled)
Weekday10:00 PM11:59 PM
Saturday4:30 PM4:30 PM
Sunday or public holidayProcessed next working dayProcessed next working day

When will funds be credited? If you place a request before 5:00 PM on a working day, funds are typically credited the same day. After 5:00 PM, they are credited the next working day. Requests on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next working day. In most cases funds arrive within 24 hours.

Withdrawal limits, charges, and processing time

  • Minimum withdrawal: ₹100 per day.
  • Maximum (regular): up to ₹2,00,000 per day.
  • Maximum (instant): up to ₹5 crore per day.
  • Instant withdrawals: supported, transferring funds to your linked bank account immediately within the instant withdrawal limits.
  • Charges: Zerodha does not charge any fee for fund withdrawals.
  • Processing time: usually within 24 hours, depending on the day and time. Requests after 5:00 PM or on weekends/holidays are processed the next working day.
  • Intraday profits: cannot be withdrawn the same day. They can only be withdrawn after the T+1 settlement period, once they reflect in your withdrawable balance.

Common withdrawal issues

  • Requests made before settlement are often delayed.
  • Incorrect or inactive bank account details can cause transfer failures.
  • Withdrawals during bank holidays or weekends are processed the next working day.
  • Pending margin or open positions may reduce the available withdrawal balance.
  • Technical issues or server delays can occasionally hold up processing.

For more on the broker’s safety and reliability, see our guide on whether Zerodha is a safe broker.

Conclusion

Withdrawing money from Zerodha is simple, quick, and secure. By following the correct timings and steps, your funds reach your bank account smoothly. With zero withdrawal fees and typical 24-hour processing, fund transfers are convenient and reliable.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel a Zerodha withdrawal after submitting? No. Once submitted, a withdrawal request cannot be cancelled. Wait until it is processed before initiating a new one.

Can I withdraw money without selling stocks? No. You must first sell holdings or close positions. Only the available balance in your trading account can be withdrawn.

Can I withdraw to a different bank account? No. Withdrawals can only go to the primary bank account linked to your Zerodha profile, for security and compliance.

How long does a Zerodha withdrawal take? Generally 24 hours to process and credit to your linked bank account, excluding weekends and holidays.

What time should I withdraw for same-day credit? Place your request before 5:00 PM on a working day.
